Sprint Racing Season Abandoned For 2011

The VRQHA race season was put on hold as the impact from the floods finally caught up with many owners and trainers.
The Sprint Industry already struggling with numbers and finance could have done without the current flood & bushfire crisis that has impacted a lot of Australia.
It will be a hard road for the die hard sprint enthusiasts to come back from this current setback, with the successful Birchip cup meeting setting the standard for what sprint racing and rural towns can achieve with hard work and a positive attitude.
Ian McKenzie, a long time follower and current committee member was devastated at the latest result as he had a number of horses in training and was confident of having a successful season.
The resolve of this fledgling Industry will be tested in the coming months when it comes time to get back off the canvas and continue to make a success of itself.
